HOW CAN YOU HELP?
The Stop the Quarry campaign is now at a critical stage.
Suffolk County Council has opened a new consultation following TRU7’s submission of additional information in response to a Regulation 25 request.
This means residents now have a further opportunity to comment on the new information and technical assessments submitted by TRU7.
IMPORTANT UPDATE
If you previously submitted an objection:
-
Your original objection still stands
-
You do NOT need to submit it again
-
You are now being asked to respond only to the new Regulation 25 information
The consultation is open until: Sunday 22 June 2026
WHAT YOU CAN DO NOW
There are several ways you can help at this stage:
1. Review the new information (if you are able)
The Regulation 25 submissions include a number of technical documents and assessments. You can view them here:
https://suffolk.planning-register.co.uk/Planning/Display?applicationNumber=SCC/0093/25SC
Even a brief review helps build awareness and understanding of what is being proposed.
2. Prepare to submit a response to the consultation
We will shortly publish updated guidance to help you understand:
-
what has changed since the original application
-
the key issues in the new documents
-
and how to structure an effective response
Please wait for this guidance if you are unsure — it will be designed to make the process as simple as possible.
3. Continue raising awareness
This stage is just as important as the original objection period.
You can still make a difference by:
-
sharing updates with neighbours, friends, and family
-
helping others understand that the consultation is now open
-
encouraging people to engage with the new material
Join our e-mail list by subscribing at the bottom of this page, like and follow our Facebook page here, and join our WhatsApp group here for latest updates as the campaign progresses.
4. Stay ready for further updates
We expect additional developments as the council continues to review the application.
We will continue to provide clear updates and guidance throughout this process.
WHY THIS STAGE MATTERS
The Regulation 25 consultation ensures that:
-
new information submitted by the applicant is properly scrutinised
-
decision-makers consider all updated evidence
-
public concerns remain fully on record during the decision process
This is a key stage in the planning process, and continued engagement remains important.
FINAL NOTE
We are extremely grateful for the support shown so far.
The scale of community engagement has already had a significant impact, and continued involvement will remain essential as the process moves forward.
Together, we will continue working to Stop the Quarry at Westerfield.
