Stop the Quarry
at Westerfield

NEW CONSULTATION OPEN

Suffolk County Council has opened a new consultation following the submission of additional information by TRU7 in response to a Regulation 25 request.

The Stop the Quarry campaign group has now completed its initial review of these documents and published updated guidance to help residents understand the new information and how to respond.

The initial deadline to respond to this new information was 22nd June, but there is still time to submit comments and objections. If you haven't submitted your new objection, please do this asap.

Read our guidance HERE.

IMPORTANT

If you previously submitted an objection:

✅ Your original objection still stands
✅ You do not need to submit it again

This consultation is specifically about commenting on the new information submitted by TRU7.

WHAT YOU SHOULD DO NOW:

1. Read the guidance

Our updated guidance explains:

  • what has changed,

  • the key concerns arising from the new documents,

  • and how to submit effective comments.

Read the guidance here.

2. Submit your comments

Use our guidance here for instructions on how to object.

3. Share the message

Please continue raising awareness amongst neighbours, friends and family. Many residents are still unaware that this new consultation is taking place.

THANK YOU

Over 1,600 initial objections have already been submitted by residents, businesses and organisations who care deeply about protecting our community.

The strength of that response has been incredibly important.

This consultation represents another significant opportunity to ensure local concerns are fully considered before any decision is made.

Thank you for your continued support.

Together, we will continue working to Stop the Quarry at Westerfield.

No turning back: If the pit is approved, the damage will be done.

Stay in the know

Thanks for submitting!
